Asperger Support and Social Groups

These groups meets in Sholing Junior School, Middle Road, Southampton
(and occasionally at other venues for activities - see panel on right).

They provide somewhere to have a chat, meet other people, share your experiences, make new friends and gain information from the experiences of others. Share advice and information about services and facilities available for children with Aspergers Syndrome and together influence attitudes about autism.

They also provide social activities for all the family - for example, outings and club facilities.

A friendship group has been set up for adults and older teenagers (16+) to meet fortnightly, and to take part in activities and have social outings.

Performing Arts sessions have also been available to develop social skills, confidence and self esteem with a drama therapist.

There is a small charge for attending club (includes refreshments) plus the cost of activity or social outings when arranged.

The Children's group meets fortnightly during term time usually on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 6.30 pm

The Adults' group meets fortnightly during term time usually on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 7.00 pm.
