Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is a benefit available to help with personal care and/or getting around.
It is available to children and adults with a disability under 65 years old. Many people have successfully claimed DLA because their child needs help with, for example, washing, dressing or going to the toilet; needs someone to keep an eye on them during the day; needs someone to keep an eye on them at night; cannot get around outdoors without supervision or has a severe mental impairment.
